Designed for Ahmedabad's most challenging industrial applications, our Biocides for Severe Fouling is a high-strength, synergistic blend containing multiple active ingredients: glutaraldehyde (25-50%), DBNPA (10-20%), and quaternary ammonium compounds (BKC or DDAC, 5-10%), plus proprietary surfactants and penetrants. This product is tailored to eradicate established biofilms and resistant microbial consortia found in Ahmedabad's textile dyeing, chemical, and pharmaceutical wastewater systems. These industries often suffer from severe biological fouling due to high organic loads (COD 2000-10,000 mg/L, BOD 800-3000 mg/L), warm temperatures (35-45°C), and nutrient-rich effluents containing nitrogen and phosphorus from dyes, auxiliaries, and cleaning agents. The blend penetrates thick biofilm layers (up to 5-10 mm) that conventional single-active biocides cannot reach, breaking down the EPS matrix and killing sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB), iron-oxidizing bacteria, and slime-forming pseudomonads that produce corrosive H₂S and cause biofouling of membranes and heat exchangers. For cooling water systems in Ahmedabad's pharmaceutical and engineering units, severe fouling can reduce heat exchange efficiency by 30-50% and increase energy consumption proportionally. Our product provides a rapid initial kill (99.9% reduction within 2 hours) followed by residual activity for up to 72 hours, allowing continuous protection between shock doses. It is effective at high temperatures (up to 55°C) and over a wide pH range (5-9). For severe cases (e.g., when cooling tower fill media is visibly slime-covered and odor of H₂S is present), we recommend a shock dose of 200-400 ppm once weekly for 4-8 weeks until the system recovers, then a maintenance dose of 50-100 ppm continuously or daily. The product is compatible with non-ionic and cationic dispersants (we often recommend using it in conjunction with our bio-dispersant for synergistic biofilm removal). For Ahmedabad's common effluent treatment plants (CETPs) that experience sludge bulking due to filamentous bacteria (Microthrix parvicella, Nocardia, etc.), this biocide can be used to selectively control filaments, but extreme caution is required because it will also kill beneficial nitrifying bacteria. We recommend on-site microbial identification (microscopic examination) and jar testing before large-scale application. Available in 25L and 200L drums. Warning: This product is corrosive to skin and eyes; full PPE (chemical goggles, nitrile gloves, apron, and face shield) is mandatory. Do not mix with strong oxidizing biocides (chlorine, hydrogen peroxide) – violent reaction may occur. Provide adequate ventilation during dosing. We offer on-site training for safe handling and emergency response for Ahmedabad's industrial safety officers.
y and preventing the performance degradation associated with chronic organic fouling in local manufacturing units.Dosage in cooling water treatment programs 20 to 30 ppm for effective control of biocide activity, for cooling waters.
INNOVA BCD 417 can be fed as received or diluted with water minimum 10% concentration with any chemical feed solution. The chemical should be added to cooling tower basin (or any other point, which provides uniform mixing) addition should be made to metering pump to minimize handling.
Badly fouled systems must be cleaned before treatment to start. INITIAL DOSE - When the system is noticeably fouled, slug feed 25 to 50 ppm of INNOVA BCD 417 in the system. SUBSEQUENT DOSE - When the Microbial count is evident, slug feed 20 to 40 ppm of INNOVA BCD 417.
The best indication of the successful application of INNOVA BCD 417 is visual inspection of tower surfaces or monitoring changes in heat transfer on metal surface of process equipment.
Uses of on-site bacterial counts or microscopic examination provide relative indicators of system cleanliness and biological control. If bacteria counts are used, Note that counts may be high immediately after biocide addition. Counts will be lower as control is achieved.
INNOVA BCD 417 is available in 25Kgs, 50Kgs & 200 Kgs.
