TCMTB-based biocides (2-(thiocyanomethylthio) benzothiazole) are high-performance industrial microbicides supplied by Innova Corporate for Ahmedabad's wood preservation, leather finishing, and industrial water treatment sectors. TCMTB is particularly effective against fungi, molds, and wood-rotting organisms – critical for Ahmedabad's furniture and handicraft industry (wooden products and packaging materials), especially during the humid monsoon when fungal growth can ruin stored goods. In leather processing (though tanneries are more concentrated in Bhavnagar, some leather finishing units exist in Ahmedabad), TCMTB is a world-standard fungicide for wet-blue leather storage and transport, preventing "spue" (white spots) and "red rot" (fungal degradation). For cooling water systems (open recirculating towers in Ahmedabad's pharma and chemical plants), TCMTB provides excellent fungal and bacterial control at low concentrations: 5-20 ppm continuous or 50-100 ppm shock. It works by inhibiting key enzymes involved in cellular respiration and ATP production. TCMTB is stable over pH 5-9 and resistant to high temperatures (up to 70°C), making it suitable for hot water closed loops and boiler water treatment (though normally biocides are not needed in boilers). Unlike oxidizing biocides (chlorine, bromine), TCMTB does not cause corrosion of mild steel or copper. In Ahmedabad's paper and pulp industry (small units), TCMTB is used in white water loops to control slime and fungal growth on wire meshes, press felts, and drying cylinders. The product has low water solubility – it is typically formulated as an emulsifiable concentrate (30-40% active) or as a water-dispersible liquid. Always shake or stir well before use, as settling can occur. For wood treatment (utility poles, railway sleepers, fence posts), we supply a high-concentration (>50%) TCMTB solution for dip or pressure treatment. For Ahmedabad's textile industry (sizing and finishing), TCMTB is used as a preservative for starch-based sizes and as a mildew-proofing agent for export fabrics. Environmental note: TCMTB is toxic to aquatic life (algae, daphnia, fish) and is not readily biodegradable. Discharge to CETPs or direct water bodies must be controlled; we recommend spill containment and treatment of wash water. Use PPE (impermeable gloves, goggles, overalls) when handling. Available in 25L, 200L drums (emulsion) and 20kg pails (neat). Shelf life: 12-18 months. We provide on-site residual analysis (HPLC) for large customers.
Dosage in cooling water treatment programs 20 to 50 ppm for effective control of biocide activity, for cooling waters.
INNOVA BCD 504 can be fed as received or diluted with water minimum 10% concentration with any chemical feed solution. The chemical should be added to cooling tower basin (or any other point, which provides uniform mixing) addition should be made to metering pump to minimize handling.
Badly fouled systems must be cleaned before treatment to start. INITIAL DOSE - When the system is noticeably fouled, slug feed 40 to 75 ppm of INNOVA BCD 504 in the system. SUBSEQUENT DOSE - When the Microbial count is evident, slug feed 30 to 65 ppm of INNOVA BCD 504.
The best indication of the successful application of INNOVA BCD 504 is visual inspection of tower surfaces or monitoring changes in heat transfer on metal surface of process equipment.
Uses of on-site bacterial counts or microscopic examination provide relative indicators of system cleanliness and biological control. If bacteria counts are used, Note that counts may be high immediately after biocide addition. Counts will be lower as control is achieved.
INNOVA BCD 504 is available in 25Kgs, 50Kgs & 200 Kgs.
