Coagulant Cationic Poly Electrolyte PE-605 is a medium molecular weight (1-2 million Da), high charge density (6-8 meq/g) liquid polymer designed for Ahmedabad's industrial wastewater pretreatment – especially for tanneries (though tanneries are more Bhavnagar, but some exist), textile mills, chemical plants, and dairy effluent. PE-605 works by charge neutralization and bridging flocculation, converting fine colloidal particles (size 0.1-10 µm) – such as fats, oils, greases (FOG), proteins, anionic surfactants, and dispersed dyes – into larger flocs that settle rapidly or float (in DAF). For Ahmedabad's dairy effluent (from milk processing, paneer, ghee, and buttermilk units), which has high organic load (COD 3000-8000 mg/L) and FOG (500-2000 mg/L), PE-605 reduces TSS from 2000 ppm to <100 ppm and FOG by 90% at 80-120 ppm dosage. For textile processing effluents (desizing, scouring, dyeing), it effectively removes polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), starches, and waxes. The product is effective over pH 5-11 and can be used in conjunction with inorganic coagulants (alum, PAC, ferric chloride) to reduce overall chemical cost (synergy: lower alum dose + lower polymer dose). For Ahmedabad's chemical plants (which may have high salt concentrations), the polymer retains activity even at TDS up to 10,000 ppm.
