DBNPA - 2,2-Dibromo-3-Nitrilopropionamide in America
Innova Corporate (India) offers DBNPA (2,2-Dibromo-3-Nitrilopropionamide) – a fast-acting, non-oxidizing biocide with rapid hydrolysis (half-life 4-12 hours). Ideal for US cooling towers, RO systems, and oilfield applications where short environmental persistence is required. DBNPA is effective against Legionella, SRB, pseudomonas, and algae at 10-50 ppm. For US food and beverage plants, it is a membrane-compatible RO sanitizer (50-100 ppm, 2-4 hours). For US power plants, weekly shock dosing controls biofilms. For oil and gas produced water (Permian, Bakken), it provides rapid sterilization. Non-foaming, effective pH 5-9, up to 50°C (122°F). Available as 20% active liquid (25L pails, 200L drums) and granular (20kg bags). Store below 30°C (86°F). We provide residual test kits and dosing calculators.

In water, DBNPA’s antimicrobial activity is nearly instantaneous, followed by rapid decomposition to carbon dioxide, ammonia, and bromide ion. DBNPA is effective against coliform bacteria; slime-forming and odor-causing algae; general bacteria and fungi (mold, mildew, and yeasts); and sulfide-producing bacteria.
