Treatment & Dosage Requirements :
In calculating the dose rate of Tacelene Chem-7066, the membrane manufacturer's operating limits and feed water quality should be considered. All dose rate calculations should be made on the computer projection programme "e-WATER 5.0", which calculates the SCR for Silica.
Generally recommended dosage is 1 ppm in the feed water for every 6 to 7ppm of total silica in the feed water, depending on the operating pH and temperature.
At 25°C, pH 7 to 7.5 with 240mg/l silica in the concentrate. Tacelene Chem-7066 is normally dosed at 5.0 to 10 mg/L in the concentrate. Tacelene chem.-7066 can be diluted with product water and should be applied continuously by means of a suitable metering pump. Continuous feed and correct level of Tacelene Chem is essential since silica fouled membranes are difficult to Clean.
When both dissolved and colloidal silica is present, silica fouling can be difficult to predict because of the complexity of the silica reaction chemistry.
Preventing the formation of substrate material like insoluble calcium and iron salts is required in eliminating silica fouling. We recommend very effective auto flushing devices to applied with high silica waters.
Principle Uses
Tacelene chem.-7066 has been developed specially as a SILICA inhibitor, for waters with SCR <1.3 to 4.2 mg/l.
For Ipb/Ksp ratios < 3 the preffered product of choice is Tacelene Chem-7065; for ratios 2.8 to 7.0, INNOVA MT 065 is normally dosed at 5.0 to 25 mg/L in the concentrate, which is equivalent to 2.5 to 6 mg/L in the feed water, dependent on the system recovery.
INNOVA MT 065 can be diluted with product water and should be applied continuously by means of a suitable metering pump. Continuous feed is essential since calcium sulphate is difficult to remove once precipitation has occurred.
Handling:
Do not store the material in open, store in cool dark place away from direct sunlight. Keep the container tightly closed when not in use. This product exhibits very low order of oral toxicity. No special care is required in handling this product.
Avoid contacts with eyes, skin and food. In case of contact, immediately flush eyes or skin with large amount of water several times. If swallowed drink large amount of water or milk and get medical attention immediately. Do not re-use the empty container, destroy it.
