Biocides Di Bromo Nitrilo Propioniamide Based (INNOVA BCD 416) in Assam
Innova Corporate (India) supplies DBNPA-based biocide (20% active liquid or solid granular) – a fast-acting, non-oxidizing antimicrobial for Assam's industrial water treatment where rapid microbial kill and short environmental half-life are required. DBNPA is highly effective against bacteria (including SRB), iron bacteria, slime-forming organisms, and fungi – all of which thrive in Assam's warm, humid conditions (25-35°C, 80-90% RH). The key advantage for industries located near the Brahmaputra river (environmentally sensitive) or subject to APCB discharge norms is its rapid hydrolysis: within 4-12 hours, DBNPA breaks down into non-toxic, biodegradable byproducts. For Assam's oil refineries (Digboi, Numaligarh), DBNPA is used as a shock biocide in cooling towers and API separators. For reverse osmosis (RO) systems in tea gardens (boiler feed) and refineries, DBNPA is a membrane-compatible sanitizer (50-100 ppm for 2-4 hours recirculation). For tea gardens, it is used to disinfect water storage tanks and supply lines before peak processing season. For paper mills, it controls slime in white water loops. The product does not foam, even under high aeration. Incompatible with reducing agents (sodium sulfite) – separate feed points required. Available in 25L pails (liquid), 200L drums, and 20kg bags (granular). For small tea gardens, we offer pre-measured water-soluble packets (50g, 100g) for batch treatment of water tanks. Method of Feeding :
INNOVA BCD 416 can be fed as received or diluted with water minimum 10% concentration with any chemical feed solution. The chemical should be added to cooling tower basin (or any other point, which provides uniform mixing) addition should be made to metering pump to minimize handling.
Feed Requirements :
Badly fouled systems must be cleaned before treatment to start. Initial Dose - When the system is noticeably fouled, slug feed 35 to 55 ppm of INNOVA BCD 416 in the system. SUBSEQUENT DOSE - When the Microbial count is evident, slug feed 25 to 50 ppm of INNOVA BCD 416.
Control Testing :
The best indication of the successful application of INNOVA BCD 416 is visual inspection of tower surfaces or monitoring changes in heat transfer on metal surface of process equipment.
Uses of on-site bacterial counts or microscopic examination provide relative indicators of system cleanliness and biological control. If bacteria counts are used, Note that counts may be high immediately after biocide addition. Counts will be lower as control is achieved.
