Innova Corporate (India) offers THPS (tetrakis hydroxymethyl phosphonium sulfate) – 75% active as a fast-acting, broad-spectrum, non-oxidizing biocide with the unique advantage of being completely biodegradable and non-persistent. This makes it ideal for Bawal's environmentally sensitive discharges – especially for industries required to meet HSPCB zero liquid discharge (ZLD) norms. THPS is exceptionally effective against biofilm-dwelling SRB and has been proven to penetrate and solubilize existing iron sulfide deposits (FeS) – common in Bawal's older cooling systems and effluent lines. For Bawal's steel mills and engineering ETPs, THPS at 50-100 ppm for 4-8 hours can remove accumulated biogenic sulfides, reducing odor and corrosion. The product works by disrupting microbial cell membranes and cross-linking cell wall proteins. It is stable over pH 3-9 and up to 80°C (176°F). For reverse osmosis (RO) systems in Bawal's ZLD plants, THPS is a membrane-friendly non-oxidizing biocide for periodic sanitization (50-100 ppm for 2-4 hours). Environmental degradation: THPS hydrolyzes to phosphoric acid and formaldehyde, further biodegrading (half-life 4-10 days). For cooling water treatment in Bawal's industries, we recommend a maintenance dose of 20-60 ppm every 5-7 days. THPS shows synergy with glutaraldehyde. INNOVA BCD 503 can be fed as received or diluted with water minimum 10% concentration with any chemical feed solution. The chemical should be added to cooling tower basin (or any other point, which provides uniform mixing) addition should be made to metering pump to minimize handling.
Badly fouled systems must be cleaned before treatment to start. INITIAL DOSE - When the system is noticeably fouled, slug feed 75 to 150 ppm of INNOVA BCD 503 in the system. SUBSEQUENT DOSE - When the Microbial count is evident, slug feed 50 to 100 ppm of INNOVA BCD 503.
The best indication of the successful application of INNOVA BCD 503 is visual inspection of tower surfaces or monitoring changes in heat transfer on metal surface of process equipment.
Uses of on-site bacterial counts or microscopic examination provide relative indicators of system cleanliness and biological control. If bacteria counts are used, Note that counts may be high immediately after biocide addition. Counts will be lower as control is achieved.
