CO₂ lowers condensate pH to 4-5, causing severe thinning of steel condensate pipes ("red water" and pinholing leaks). Our treatment includes neutralizing amines (cyclohexylamine, morpholine, DEAE, AMP) and filming amines (octadecylamine). Neutralizing amines raise condensate pH to 8-9; filming amines form a protective monolayer. For Mumbai's large textile mills with long steam distribution networks, we recommend a blend of low- and high-distribution ratio amines. Our Condensate Treatment 401 also contains an oxygen scavenger (erythorbic acid or DEHA). Dosing: 10-50 ppm.
