Innova Corporate (India) supplies Membrane Cleaning Innova MT-205 – an acidic cleaner designed to remove inorganic scales (calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, barium sulfate, iron oxides, and aluminum silicates) from reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration (NF) membranes in Delhi's water treatment plants. For Delhi's textile and pharma RO systems (treating high-TDS groundwater or Yamuna water), calcium carbonate scale is a major issue – MT-205 dissolves scale completely within 2 hours of recirculation at 30-40°C (86-104°F). For data center RO systems (cooling water makeup), it removes calcium and iron scales. The product contains phosphoric acid, citric acid, and a low-foaming surfactant at pH 2-3. It is compatible with polyamide and cellulose acetate membranes (check membrane manufacturer guidelines). Dosage: 1-3% by volume. For severe scaling (e.g., after poor antiscalant control in Delhi's ZLD systems), a soak cycle (4-12 hours) may be needed. We recommend alternating MT-205 (acid) and MT-204 (alkaline) cleaning for best results – typically acid first if scale is predominant, or alkaline first if organic fouling is heavy. The product is supplied as a clear liquid (30-50% acid blend) in 25L, 200L drums. For high iron fouling (Delhi's groundwater often has 2-10 ppm Fe), add a reducing agent (sodium metabisulfite, 0.1%) to convert Fe³⁺ to Fe²⁺ before cleaning – this improves removal. We provide cleaning effectiveness verification using normalized flow and salt rejection measurements. For spiral wound membranes, ensure cross-flow velocity >0.3 m/s and low pressure (0.5-1.0 bar). Available with material safety data sheet and on-site training for Delhi's operators.
In the industrial environments of Delhi, deposits build upon the membrane until they cause a reduction in normalized permeate flow and losses in salt rejection. These effects can lead to poor water quality, production losses, and unscheduled downtime.
Implementing a regular maintenance program in Delhi facilities provides a significant return on investment by extending system run time and preventing membrane degradation. When INNOVA MT 205 is used in conjunction with local microbial control agents, it is also highly effective against biofilm. This product should always be used as recommended by the membrane manufacturer with respect to pH and temperature to ensure optimal results across Delhi.
Suitable for use with polyamide thin film composite and cellulose acetate membranes.
Effective removal of organic matter.
High level of active substance
Liquid product, easy to handle and simple to apply.
INNOVA MT 205 cleaning solutions are made up at 1.0% to 2.0% by volume with chlorine free product water and NaOH addition to give a pH of 10.5 to 11.5. It is recommended that warm cleaning solutions be use within the limits imposed by the membrane manufacturers. The duration of the cleaning cycle depends on the quantity and nature of the fouling.
Although a cleaning period of 2 to 4 hours may be typical, and extended overnight soaking period may be necessary in the case of heavy fouling. Short periods of recirculation and soaking (15 minute change over) are considered good practice for heavily fouled membranes.
