Innova Corporate (India) offers an Antiscalant for High Sulphate Water designed for Ethiopia's industrial sites where groundwater contains elevated sulfate levels (400-1000 ppm) due to natural geological formations (volcanic rocks, gypsum deposits) or industrial contamination (common in some industrial areas around Addis Ababa, Adama, and Dire Dawa). High sulfate combined with calcium leads to gypsum (CaSO₄·2H₂O) scale which is extremely hard to remove. Our antiscalant uses advanced polyacrylate-sulfonate copolymers (AA/AMPS) and PCA (phosphino-carboxylic acid) technology to disrupt sulfate crystal nucleation and growth. For Ethiopia's textile mills, leather tanneries, and food processing plants, cooling towers and RO systems facing sulfate scaling – our antiscalant prevents scale even at 120% supersaturation of CaSO₄. For water reuse and ZLD systems (increasingly prioritized by the Ethiopian government for industrial parks), this antiscalant enables recovery ratios >85% without sulfate scaling, reducing evaporation load and minimizing waste disposal. Dosage: 4-10 ppm, effective up to 80°C (176°F). Unlike conventional antiscalants, our formulation does not precipitate with ferric or aluminum coagulants commonly used in Ethiopia's effluent treatment plants (ETPs) for color and heavy metal removal. It also disperses clay and silt from surface waters during the rainy season (June-September). Available in 25L, 200L drums. We provide on-site scale prediction using OLI or ScaleSoft software for optimal dosing, with our team available to support Ethiopia's rapidly expanding industrial parks and manufacturing facilities. Compatible with all common biocides and corrosion inhibitors. For metal finishing and electroplating effluents (if any), we offer a low-phosphorus variant.
In calculating the dose rate of INNOVA MT 065 for facilities in Ethiopia, the membrane manufacturer's operating limits and local feed water quality should be strictly considered. All dose rate calculations should be made on the computer projection programme "e-WATER 5.0", which calculates the Ipb/Ksp ratio for calcium sulphate and other potential scaling salts specific to the Ethiopia water table.
For Ipb/Ksp ratios < 3 the preferred product of choice is Tacelene Chem-7065; for ratios 2.8 to 7.0, INNOVA MT 065 is normally dosed at 5.0 to 25 mg/L in the concentrate, which is equivalent to 2.5 to 6 mg/L in the feed water for Ethiopia based systems, dependent on the system recovery.
INNOVA MT 065 can be diluted with product water and should be applied continuously by means of a suitable metering pump. For the tea processing and rubber industries in Ethiopia, continuous feed is essential since calcium sulphate is difficult to remove once precipitation has occurred in local filtration units.
INNOVA MT 065 has been developed specially as a calcium sulphate inhibitor, for waters with CaSO4 Ipb/Ksp ratio of 2.8 to 7.0. It functions by a powerful threshold mechanism of calcium carbonate, and is highly tolerant to the presence of iron.
