Innova Corporate (India) introduces Antiscalant for High Sulphate Water for the Sultanate of Oman. Sulfate levels (500-1500 ppm as SO₄²⁻) come from groundwater, desalination brine concentrate, oil & gas operations (produced water), and chemical plants. High sulfate leads to calcium sulfate (gypsum) scale, which is notoriously difficult to control because it forms at lower temperatures than calcium carbonate, is less responsive to conventional acid treatment, and is extremely tenacious on RO membranes, heat exchangers, and cooling tower surfaces. Our product is a proprietary polymer-phosphonate blend with sulfonated copolymers specifically designed to prevent calcium sulfate, barium sulfate, and strontium sulfate scales. The product works through crystal modification and threshold inhibition, effectively keeping sulfate scales in solution even at concentration factors of 4-6 in RO systems, cooling towers, and desalination brine concentrators. It is highly effective in cooling towers, boiler feed water, reverse osmosis systems, desalination pre-treatment, and ZLD evaporators serving oil & gas, refining, steel, aluminum, power, and petrochemical industries. Our antiscalant demonstrates exceptional performance in extremely high TDS (up to 30,000-40,000 ppm) and high pH (up to 8.5) conditions - common in Oman's industrial water loops. It is liquid, easy to dose at 3-15 ppm, and maintains its effectiveness at temperatures up to 95°C. The product is compatible with all major RO membrane types and works synergistically with corrosion inhibitors, silica dispersants, and biocides. By using our High Sulfate Antiscalant, Omani facilities achieve reduced scaling frequency, 25-35% longer equipment run times, lower chemical cleaning costs, improved water recovery rates up to 85-90% in RO systems, extended ZLD evaporator run times, and Environment Authority compliance for marine protection.
In calculating the dose rate of INNOVA MT 065 for facilities in Oman, the membrane manufacturer's operating limits and local feed water quality should be strictly considered. All dose rate calculations should be made on the computer projection programme "e-WATER 5.0", which calculates the Ipb/Ksp ratio for calcium sulphate and other potential scaling salts specific to the Oman water table.
For Ipb/Ksp ratios < 3 the preferred product of choice is Tacelene Chem-7065; for ratios 2.8 to 7.0, INNOVA MT 065 is normally dosed at 5.0 to 25 mg/L in the concentrate, which is equivalent to 2.5 to 6 mg/L in the feed water for Oman based systems, dependent on the system recovery.
INNOVA MT 065 can be diluted with product water and should be applied continuously by means of a suitable metering pump. For the tea processing and rubber industries in Oman, continuous feed is essential since calcium sulphate is difficult to remove once precipitation has occurred in local filtration units.
INNOVA MT 065 has been developed specially as a calcium sulphate inhibitor, for waters with CaSO4 Ipb/Ksp ratio of 2.8 to 7.0. It functions by a powerful threshold mechanism of calcium carbonate, and is highly tolerant to the presence of iron.
