Paint Additives Biocide (INNOVA PA 992)
Paint Additives Biocide (INNOVA PA 992) is a specialized, broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent engineered to provide superior protection for water-based paints, coatings, and industrial emulsions. This advanced in-can preservative is designed to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi, and yeast, ensuring the long-term stability and shelf-life of the finished product. By utilizing INNOVA PA 992, manufacturers can prevent common spoilage issues such as gas formation, viscosity loss, and foul odors caused by microbial contamination. INNOVA PA 992 is compatible with most formulations in which its application is recommended. Reducing agents amines and other strong nucleophiles can cause degradation of the active ingredients. Users are therefore advised to carry out their own tests or seek further advice from Innova prior to initial application.
Application :
INNOVA PA 992 is suitable for the wet-state preservation of a wide range of aqueous products including paints, polymer emulsions, adhesives, ceramic glazes, fillers and sealants and as a tank side additive for ready-diluted metalworking fluids.
Normal use concentrations are in the range 0.05 - 0.40%, depending on the product to be protected and the environmental conditions to which it will be exposed. The local Innova Technical Centre can assist in determining the precise concentration required for specific applications.
Compatibility:
INNOVA PA 992 can be added at any time during manufacturing. However, it is advised to add it as early as possible to give protection throughout the production process. Care should be taken to ensure that temperature, pH and redox potential at the point of addition are suitable for stability of the product.
