Biocides TCMTB Based (INNOVA BCD 504) in Saudi-arabia

Innova Corporate (India) offers a specialized TCMTB based Biocide (Thiocyanomethylthio Benzothiazole), a broad-spectrum, non-oxidizing biocide and fungicide widely used in industrial water treatment, metalworking fluids, and preservation across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. TCMTB is particularly valued in cooling water systems, metalworking fluids, oil & gas, desalination, and industrial preservation across Jubail, Yanbu, Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah. The product is a benzothiazole derivative that works by inhibiting key metabolic enzymes, specifically those involved in cellular respiration and energy production. This mechanism makes TCMTB effective against a wide spectrum of microorganisms including bacteria, fungi, yeasts, and algae, with particular effectiveness against fungal contamination, biofilm-forming bacteria, and sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB). Our TCMTB based biocide offers excellent thermal stability (effective up to 100°C) and remains active across a broad pH range (4-10), making it suitable for high-temperature processes and challenging water conditions common in Saudi Arabia's industrial cooling systems where summer temperatures reach 45-55°C. Key applications in Saudi Arabia include cooling water systems (particularly those with fungal and SRB problems - refineries, petrochemical plants, desalination plants), metalworking fluid preservation (cutting oils and coolants - critical for steel and aluminum industries), desalination plant pre-treatment (biofouling control), oil & gas water injection, and industrial preservation of paints, coatings, and emulsions. The product provides long-lasting residual activity (7-14 days) due to its slow hydrolysis profile and low water solubility, making it ideal for batch treatment and systems with long retention times. Typical dosage ranges from 20-100 ppm for continuous treatment to 100-300 ppm for shock dosing (every 7-14 days). Our TCMTB biocide is compatible with non-ionic and anionic surfactants and works synergistically with other biocides including glutaraldehyde, DBNPA, isothiazolinones, and MBT. It is not compatible with strong oxidizing agents like chlorine, bromine, and hydrogen peroxide - avoid simultaneous use. Important considerations: TCMTB has low water solubility and should be emulsified properly before dosing - our technical team provides guidance. The product has a characteristic sulfur-like odor and is a skin and eye irritant - appropriate PPE (gloves, goggles, protective clothing) must be used. By using our TCMTB based biocide, Saudi industries achieve superior fungal and SRB control in high-temperature applications (up to 100°C), long-lasting residual protection reducing biocide frequency (7-14 days between treatments), effective biofilm prevention in metalworking fluid systems (extending fluid life by 50-100%), broad-spectrum efficacy including yeasts and molds, reduced corrosion from SRB (extending equipment life by 2-4 years), and compliance with Royal Commission and MEWA discharge standards at recommended dosages.

Advantages:

  • INNOVA BCD 504 is a good fungicide for control of wood rot.

Dosage :

Dosage in cooling water treatment programs 20 to 50 ppm for effective control of biocide activity, for cooling waters.

Method of Feeding :

INNOVA BCD 504 can be fed as received or diluted with water minimum 10% concentration with any chemical feed solution. The chemical should be added to cooling tower basin (or any other point, which provides uniform mixing) addition should be made to metering pump to minimize handling.

Feed Requirements :

Badly fouled systems must be cleaned before treatment to start. INITIAL DOSE - When the system is noticeably fouled, slug feed 40 to 75 ppm of INNOVA BCD 504 in the system. SUBSEQUENT DOSE - When the Microbial count is evident, slug feed 30 to 65 ppm of INNOVA BCD 504.

Control Testing :

The best indication of the successful application of INNOVA BCD 504 is visual inspection of tower surfaces or monitoring changes in heat transfer on metal surface of process equipment.

Uses of on-site bacterial counts or microscopic examination provide relative indicators of system cleanliness and biological control. If bacteria counts are used, Note that counts may be high immediately after biocide addition. Counts will be lower as control is achieved.

Packing :

    INNOVA BCD 504 is available in 25Kgs, 50Kgs & 200 Kgs.
